On February 3, 2015, representatives of Georgian Democracy Initiative held a discussion on the topic of “Freedom of expression and Charlie Hebdo“ with local Muslims in Batumi Centre for Civic Engagement.
At the meeting, lawyer of Georgian Democracy Initiative, Giorgi Mshvenieradze and theologian Beka Mindiashvili, reviewed the constitutional standard about freedom of expression and the European and American experience in this respect. The talk was followed by a discussion.
The discussions were held in the framework of the “Improvement of tolerance, religious freedom and human rights in Georgia” project which is being implemented with the funding of the Human Rights Fund of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
