Human Rights Newsletter, May 2015

Georgian Democracy Initiative has released the Newsletter for May 2015, which deals with important events and issues of the aforementioned period in terms of protection of human rights.

The newsletter concerns GDI Report on the situation of Human Rights and Freedoms in Georgia of the second half of 2014, restriction of the right to assembly and manifestations and freedom of expression for political opposition, alleged attempt to exert pressure on judges, frequent acts of violence on the part of police officers, the situation in penitentiary institutions, cases of domestic violence. The newsletter also reviews important changes and novelties that were implemented in the Georgian legislation and decision of Constitutional Court of Georgia and European Court of Human Rights in May 2015.
