A meeting with teachers who are members of the Civic Education Teachers’ Forum

On June 18, 2015, a member of the board of NGO Georgian Democracy Initiative, Giorgi Mshvenieradze, held a meeting with teachers of civic education who were preparing for teacher certification exams. The meeting was organized by the Civic Education Teachers’ Forum.

The meeting aimed to assist civic education teachers in teaching human rights, tolerance, prohibition of discrimination, and principles of equality.

The meeting involved civic education teachers of public schools no. 155, 171, 102, 186, 209, 215, 107 of Tbilisi; private schools “Lampari” and “Aisi”; private schools “Lazare”, “Nakaduli”, and “Rustaveli” of Rustavi; public school no. 6 of Akhaltsikhe; public school of the village of Akhali Samgori, Gardabani Municipality; private school “Davitiani” of the town of Bolnisi; public school of the village of Aketi, Lanchkhuti Municipality; public school of the village of Mokhisi, Kareli Municipality; public school of the village of Nigoza, Kaspi Municipality; public school of the village of Khevsurtsopeli, Tianeti Municipality; and public school of the village of Nichbisi, Mtskheta Municipality.         

The participants were awarded with copies of video lessons on the topics of “Equality and tolerance” and “From dignity to right” which had been produced by the Georgian Democracy Initiative.

 

The video lessons were produced in the framework of the project “Improving tolerance, religious freedom and human rights in Georgia”, which is being implemented with the funding of the Human Rights Fund of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
